Spokane Area Attractions

Downtown Spokane (about 5 minutes from the Inn)
Explore Spokane Falls roaring right through downtown Spokane. The Centennial Trail will take you to Riverfront Park and the dozens of walking briges that cross between the park and upper Falls. Riverfront Park is the site of the Expo of ’74, the world’s first “environmentally themed” Fair. Don’t miss the Great Northern Clocktower and 26-ton Radio Flyer Red Wagon, or the rotary fountain for the kids to cool off. For a small fee, the kids can also enjoy the carousel, skyride over the Falls, IMAX Theater, and seasonal rides. Keep walking along Centennial Trail (or rent a bike!) and you will come to the Sculpture Walk and Gonzaga University.

Free art galleries, restaurants, brewpubs, Farmer’s Markets, great shopping, nightlife, beautiful parks and gardens – there is so much to do!

Spokane features loads of special events, festivals, concerts, and sporting contests. Bloomsday is a nationally-recognized 7.5 mile road race, drawing over 50,000 runners on the 1st Sunday in May. On the third Sunday in May, the Lilac Festival is a celebration of spring, and in June the Hoopfest takes over downtown with 42 blocks devoted to 3-3 basketball, attracting some of the country’s top talent.

Just outside the city, there are lakes and rivers galore, and skiing not far away at Mt. Spokane.
